Guard's First Birthday Party

I'll admit.  I went a bit overboard.  Gavin said, "How come I didn't get a birthday party like this when I was one."  Because I love Guard more. (Only kidding!)
We went with a farm theme.  Guard loves animals and it seemed to fit a cute little boy well.
We started with 'tractor rides'.  Grandpa Dee was so kind to bring up his train and the kids all loved it.  They rode around and around until dinner was ready.
At the dinner table, everyone got farmer hats.
Greg grilled hamburgers to go along with chips, strawberries and lemonade.
Dinner was yummy, but not as good as presents.
Guard thought this was great.  I love all his faces!
 Finally!  Presents!

I love books!
Oreos?  Who gave me these?  Mom won't let me have them.  It's torture!  Oh, they are for Dad.
It's a tractor!  My very own tractor!
A little Coal!  I love Coal!
THIS Coal will do whatever I want.  Boohaha!
I'm so excited!  Thanks for all my presents!

I've been working on Guard's big present since February.  It's been a huge project, but I'm so happy with how it turned out.
Every farmer needs a tractor, some animals and a field to harvest.  Guard's quilt field complete with felt strawberries, potatoes, peas, tomatoes, beets, corn, pumpkins, carrots, eggs and green onions.  That's a lot of felt.  It was a lot of work and made with love. (I still need to finish the fruits).
Happy First Birthday sweet Guard.  We adore you!
