Good-bye Dr. Johnson

Dr. David Johnson has been our pediatrician for over 15 years.  The first time we saw him was when I was pregnant with Gavin.  He had just opened his office in American Fork.  He didn't even have a receptionist; he called us back himself.
After that first appointment, we knew he was our doctor.  He was so kind, patient (with us first-time parents, and second-time parent, and third-time parents and still, fourth-time parents), knowledgeable and qualified.
He's the founder of Alpine Pediatrics (which now has three offices) and has numerous patients, but he still called us his VIP family.  Whenever Gavin came in, he'd say, "It's Gavin!  From the beginning!  Enoch has always been referred to as "The Prophet" and Enoch loves it.  Kate is Kate the Great.  And Dr. Johnson always says, "Guard, my only one,"  meaning that he has no other patients named Guard.
When I took Guard in for his one-year-old check, he told me he was retiring.  He and his wife were serving a mission to Argentina.  I knew it was coming soon.  Dr. Johnson is about that age.  But it was still hard to take.  I called Greg and got teary.  Luckily, Dr. Johnson referred us to a great doctor.  We haven't seen him yet, but if Dr. Johnson likes him, I have high hopes for Dr. Cox.
Good-bye Dr. Johnson!  We will miss you so much!  Thanks for everything!
