A whole decade!
When you start using words like decade, you know you are getting old.
And the best part is Enoch is so laid back about his birthday. Really, you wouldn't even know it's coming up. The only thing he asked for was a watch with a barometer.
He got his barometer watch. I thought it would be fun to let him open it before breakfast so he could wear it to school (he had to wait until after dinner to open the rest of his presents). I wrapped it up with a big bow and set it on his plate. Apparently I started a new tradition. Kate told me a few days before her birthday that she was soooo excited to open her plate present.
We ate waffles for breakfast per Enoch's request. We measured him. Still my steady grower - no growth spurt yet. And sent him off to school with his birthday treat of Nerds.
He had a great day at school. Dad ate lunch with him (and it was pizza day, too). It was such a warm, beautiful day we headed to the park after homework was done. Who gets to do that when their birthday is in February?!
When we were about ready to go, the fire engine pulled out of a bay and into the back lot. Enoch ran over and stood at the edge of the parking lot to see what was going on. The fireman were great and invited him and Kate over to help them perform their daily safety checks. When they found out it was Enoch's birthday, the fireman gave him a present of Lehi City Fire Dept pencils and stickers. A cool thing for your birthday.
Home for Enoch's birthday dinner of fish. He requests fish almost every year.
After dinner, we opened presents. Enoch is so relaxed about presents. I could probably wrap up things from his room and he would be okay with it!
He got some Harry Potter Legos, a snap circuit remote-control rover, a reading lamp and Peanuts book from Grandma and Grandpa Fowler and a kite from the Fords.
piano - with headphones! Hallelujah! We are all so happy!
It really has been a fun thing for Enoch. He loves to sit and play now for fun. He will make up songs with all the different instrument sounds and has even discovered some sounds like car honking and gun shots. And guess what - it's all good. Love those headphones!
For dessert, Enoch chose no bake cookies since we will be having brownies tomorrow at his birthday party.
I hope it was a fun day for him! We love you, Enoch! Happy Birthday!
