St. Patrick's Day

I'll admit, the Leprechaun usually doesn't visit our house.  St. Patrick's Day is a holiday I just haven't gotten that in to.  It comes and goes.  We try to wear green and that's about it.
This year in school, Enoch has been doing a lot of activities involving leprechauns and their mischief.  He was so excited to pull some St. Patrick's pranks on the family.  In an effort to avoid any messes and trouble, I promised him a nice, sweet Leprechaun would visit our family in place of his trouble-causing, mean Leprechaun.  He wasn't completely thrilled about that, but it seemed like a decent compromise.
St. Patrick's Day morning, the kids woke up to find gold coins hidden around the house by our nice, sweet Leprechaun.  They collected a handful and thought it was quite neat (compared to the nothing they got in years past).
After our treasure hunt, we ate a festive breakfast of rainbow rice krispies and green smoothies.
Since St. Patrick's Day fell on a Sunday this year, some of us struggled to find green clothes to wear, but we managed.
It was a fun day.  Maybe our Leprechaun will visit next year.
