We ate a great breakfast at the hotel. They said continental breakfast, but they had fresh pancakes, eggs and hash browns. The kids especially loved the yummy hot chocolate.
We changed into our suits and ran across the cold street to the pool for some more swimming. Again, we had a great time in the pool. We were all sad to leave and wondered if we should have planned more time in Glenwood Springs. Although Kate probably could not have taken another day in the pool, since we woke up with a rash all over her.
We ran back to the hotel, dressed, packed and loaded up the luggage. We picked up some Subway sandwiches to eat on the train for lunch. Then, we lugged our luggage back to the train station.
The kids were excited to get back on the train. Enoch waited patiently behind the yellow line (because he didn't want to be yelled at again).
On the train, we ate our lunch, relaxed, looked for eagles (didn't see a one) and watched 101 Dalmatians. This train ride was a bit slower as we passed a few other trains, went up some hills, went down some hills and went through the Moffett (?) tunnel. Enoch and Kate were a bit scared as first, but after the first few minutes, they thought it was great. The tunnel lasted about 15 minutes while we were going under the Continental Divide.
We pulled into Denver around 7pm. We waited for 30 minutes for our shuttle to the hotel, but the weather was warm and the kids were happy to run around.
We were tired and cranky when we reached the hotel. We choose to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant because there was nothing else close and we didn't have our rental car yet. Bad choice! Bad food, bad service, but at least we didn't go to bed hungry.
We all climbed into bed tired. Enoch shared a room with Grandma and Grandpa and slept great. We had an early morning, so we went straight to sleep.
