Legoland

We left for California on Valentine's Day after school.  Enoch and Kate were so excited and Guard was so sad.  But, Guard stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa Randall and had a great time.
I must say, traveling with two kids who are nine and five was quite enjoyable.  It was almost like a vacation.  Enoch and Kate made themselves comfortable and we rarely heard from them until it was time for dinner.  We ate some soup and croissants in Beaver in the motorhome, got jammies on and drove for a few more hours.  Enoch, Kate and I fell asleep while Greg drove into Nevada and found a rest stop to catch a few more hours of sleep.
Early the next morning, we ate breakfast and drove the last few hours into Carlsbad, CA.  The kids were so excited to go to Legoland.  We got there a few minutes before it opened and didn't have to wait too long in line.
We headed for the cars first.  Enoch and Kate love, love, love driving the cars.  Kate still talks about the cars from the first time we went when she was two.  They had so much fun!  We had to fudge a bit on Kate's age (she was suppose to be six), but she was a great driver!
Luckily for us, the lines were quite short, so the kids drove the cars five times that day.
As much as Enoch liked the cars, he loved the boats!  He had so much driving his own vessel.  Again, we were able to go a few times.  Enoch was insistent that I go with him the last time.  What a pleasure cruise - just watch out for the sharks at the end!
We had so much fun at Legoland!  We rode the dragon roller coaster.  Kate loved it and Enoch tolerated it.  Greg and Enoch took a spin on the robotic arms.  We rode spinning rides and calm rides.  One of Greg's favorite parts is the Star Wars display.
And, of course, Enoch and Kate loved the playground.  I stopped trying to keep track of them after a few minutes, because they were all over the place.  They had a great time and seemed to find me and Greg when they noticed we had apple fries with whipped cream frosting.
We couldn't go the Legoland and not go shopping.  It is always fun to see so many Legos in one place.  Enoch picked out a fun boat set, Kate got a 'K' key chain and we took home some fun Duplos for Guard.
What a fun day!  We stayed till the end.  We were tired, but it was worth it.
We drove a few miles out of Carlsbad to reach our San Diego KOA.
Tomorrow - Sea World!
