San Diego sounded positively lovely.
We planned the trip and we were so excited. Now - how to tell the kids? We decided on a scavenger hunt/treasure hunt. We gave them clues such as:
1 - These can be good friends, especially at night. We hold them, we look at them, we read them. What are they?
Pick your favorite three and bring them to Mom.2 – These can be fun too! We use them upstairs or downstairs and sometimes in the car. We pick them out and watch them. What are they?
Pick your favorite three and bring them to Mom.
3 – These are so much fun to have! They are soft, fluffy, cuddly, furry and great snugglers. What are they?
Pick your favorite one and bring them to Mom.
4 – This was a great present on Christmas morning. It is round, big and used for storing things. What is it?
Find yours and bring it to Mom.
5 – We love these in our family. We use them with two people or our entire family. There are many different kinds – some have a lot of pieces, some have boards, some have cards. What are they? Pick your favorite two and bring them to Mom.
6 – Sometimes we use this during the day, sometimes we use it during the night. This is very big, very fast and very fun. It takes us on adventures. What is it?
It was great. The kids had fun figuring out the clues and gathering their things. In the process, they were packing for the trip. We ended up in the motor home and told them that they were going to Legoland and SeaWorld for their birthdays. They were so excited!
Now, the waiting. One and a half days until we take off for San Diego. We can't wait!
