Martin's Cove

We woke up early this morning, ate a simple breakfast of muffins, hard boiled eggs and fruit.  The kids were anxious to see things and get this vacation going.  After a quick walk with Coal, we headed into Martin's Cove.
We spent some time in the museum, but the kids really liked walking around.  There was so much to see.  We didn't hike all the way to the cove, but we made it part way before the kids were tired and we were being eaten by mosquitoes.  The handcarts didn't make it much past the parking lot, but Enoch and Kate thought they were great!
We had a wonderful time at Martin's Cove.  It is such a special place and you can really feel the Spirit here.  Someday, we will hike to the Cove.
We continued our travels and stopped briefly for lunch at Ayren's Arch in Wyoming.  We weren't quite sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a lot more popular and beautiful than we thought.  It is a natural arch with water running under it - quite unique in the world.  It has pavilions, picnic tables and an extensive walking trail.  It was a fun spot and I wish we could have stayed longer.
We ate lunch in the motor home, explored the arch and again, continued on our way.
We drove the rest of the afternoon and finally arrived in South Dakota;s Black Hills at Welikit Campground.  We were very happy with the campground in the mountains.  It was beautiful, quiet and centrally located.  It's going to be a great vacation!
