The BYU Bubble

Maybe that isn't the best title for this post. Let me give you a bit of background.
A few days ago I was browsing The New Era and came across a little blurp that encouraged kids to record spiritual experiences on Facebook, blogs, etc. I thought, why not for me too? This is our family journal, so let's include some of that as well.
Today we headed down to Provo to run some errands and attend the BYU Scrimmage. We did some errands and then at about 11:45 as we were heading to the game, it started to snow. A lot of snow. Wet, heavy snow. I guess we are sissy fans because we opted to skip the game and hang out on campus. We grabbed some lunch at the CougarEat and then wandered around the Bookstore. We got a pink BYU shirt for Kate (since she is always asking about her BYU shirt when the boys wear theirs). Gavin had a great time in the school supply section and Enoch loved looking at the children books.
That night I read to Enoch, we said our prayers and we talked about our day. We have a tradition of telling each other of a good choice we made that day or when we felt the Spirit. This has been a great thing for me and Enoch. I know for me it has made me really pay attention to what is going on in my life. And for Enoch (and me too), he is learning to recognize the Spirit.
He told me today that he had a lot of fun at BYU and felt really good when he was there. I told him that a lot of people at BYU are making good choices and are trying really hard to follow the Spirit. Enoch said, "So, maybe Heavenly Father puts a bubble all around BYU to keep the Spirit in and that is why it is so strong. Then, if somebody makes a bad choice, Heavenly Father puts a glass box around them to keep their bad spirit in and not around BYU! But, if they repent, Heavenly Father will take away their glass box."
If that is how he wants to visualize it, I'm fine with that for now. I wish I could put a bubble around my home and kids all the time!

And now, he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, not only men but women also. Now this is not all; little children do have words given unto them many times, which confound the wise and the learned. Alma 32:23 I cannot say it better than Alma. This post brought tears to my eyes.

Enoch, I agree with you. I LOVED BYU campus because it always felt safe and welcoming and the spirit was always strong there. What a cute tradition, we might steal it to do with Marcus.
