Fowler Family Fun Day

We celebrated Fowler Family Fun Day (formerly Brother's Day) today. We really needed to celebrate our family. We haven't been getting along very well. Gavin is bored (therefore mean), Enoch is over-reacting to Gavin and Kate has given up naps completely (therefore as ornery as she can be and then some). We are reading about the people of Alma at the Waters of Mormon in the Book of Mormon. We discussed as a family how we could be more like them - loving, kind, forgiving, helpful. I don't know how effective it is for Mom to yell and scream about being like the people of Alma. It kind of takes away that loving feeling! We're working on it.
Back of Fowler Family Fun Day. We started the morning weeding our cul-de-sac garden. Not very fun, but Saturday morning is picking day. We harvested some zucchini, corn, peppers and beans. We came home, put on our swimming suits and went to the pool.
We got a family pass to the pool for the last couple months, so we have been going a lot. The kids really enjoy it. Kate loves to be in the pool. Her screams echo throughout the entire aquatics center when it is time to go. We had a great time (despite the fits when we packed up).
We all showered at home. Pool Greg was last and his water was quite cool. We all got loaded in the car again and ended up at Arctic Circle for lunch. It was good, but the Huckleberry shake was incredible. We didn't linger too much over lunch because we had a movie to catch.
The boys (Greg, Gavin and Enoch) love to watch movies in the theater. I'm fine Redboxing most movies and apparently Kate is more entertained by the bathrooms (since we were in there about five times during the movie). However, we had a fun time and the movie, Despicable Me, was very funny.
We came home, played video games together, ate a simple dinner and finished up our Magic School Bus book and project (more on that later). It was a good day. We enjoyed being with each other. Our family is worth celebrating!

So much fun! What a great family day! You have wonderful ideas and a wonderful family (even if they are "normal" and don't get along all the time). We love you all!
