Even though most of our celebrating took place on July 3rd, we still had a fun Fourth. I started the morning at the pool at 6:30 am (after being woken up by the traditional Lehi salutes). Our morning was slow and relaxing. I was feeling a bit guilty because I had neglected the patriotic aspect of Independence Day. Late that morning, I watched the movie, A More Perfect Union about the Constitutional Convention. It was a great reminder of what the day was all about.
That afternoon we made some strawberry ice cream. It was very yummy and we all enjoyed it. We watched the movie, Cars, and had a fun afternoon.
We spent that evening with friends at a BBQ at the Boyd's home. We visited with friendsand ate good food. We skipped the Thanksgiving Point fireworks this year and opted to stay close to home. The fireworks at Cul-de-Sac of Fire were fantastic. The kids loved them (especially Gavin). We got to bed late again, but it was worth it. What a great weekend!

Happy Independence Day to all! Sounds like your holiday was completely American! I even like the idea of swimming--maybe we could make it a tradition!
Strawberry ice cream sounds delicious! Glad you guys had a good 4th!
