Meet me in St. Louis

A few months ago, my sister, Michelle, called and proposed the idea of me, her and our brother, Jarom, flying to St. Louis to surprise our other sister, Valerie, on her birthday.  It sounded like a grand plan and we decided to do it.  This is a little out of character for me, but everything fell into place, Greg got work off and it all happened.
I knew the hardest part would be leaving the kids.  I rarely leave the kids.  It was probably good for all of us.  Greg told me not to worry and he had everything under control.  He did great and the kids had such a fun time with Dad.  Kate did send me a picture so I wouldn't forget her.
Our flight left on Wednesday afternoon.  After a layover in Denver, we finally arrived in St. Louis around midnight.  It was a long afternoon.  Kyle picked us up from the airport and he drove to Fords about 30 minutes away.
 (That's Kevin in the back!?)
Valerie had no idea we were coming.  Kyle was great to cover up our plans and get everything into place.  I feel bad that we woke her up in the middle of the night, but the surprise was worth it.  She was shocked!  It was so much fun!
We were in St. Louis for three days.  We mostly just hung out, visited, and ate.  We ate a lot of food.  But, really good food.  We stopped at Fitz's, Zia's on The Hill (best Italian ever) and Sugarfire BBQ.  It was so good, but so much food.  I couldn't even enjoy fondue our last night there because I was still so stuffed!
We did hit a few of the sights in St. Louis.  Enoch is so jealous that now both Gavin and I have been to Gateway Arch and he hasn't.  We didn't go in the Arch, but just around it.  It was so cold that day!  Freezing!
And, then we just hung out at the Fords.  We visited, laughed, watched movies, watched the BYU game.  We also went to a recognition assembly and Carson's school, Carson's basketball game and Brynnley's gymnastics class.  We just went where Valerie did.  It was great.
I took these pictures for Enoch.  Storm shelters in the airport and church closures scrolling across the screen on Saturday night.  It snowed two inches the next day.
We had such a great time!  It was so wonderful to see the Fords, to see St. Louis and spend the weekend with family.  Can't wait to see St. Louis during the summertime.
