At the Beach

My kids haven't spent a lot of time at the beach.  We live in a land-locked state with no "beachy" lakes around.  However, they do love the water and will jump at a chance to play in it.
My sister mentioned a park a few cities over that had a beach.  What?!  Why have I never heard of this?  It isn't a park with play equipment, but a man made pond with some super grainy sand along one side.  Who cares what the sand is like - we were in for a visit.
We packed up (geez it took forever, why does everything have to take so long with kids?), made our lunches and headed out.  Gavin was so wonderful to come along, set up the awning and hang out with us.  There were no trees, so the awning was extra nice - I wouldn't do it again without it.
The kids played and played and played.  They built sand castles, made rivers, splashed each other and had such a great time.  They picked at their lunches and then they were off to play some more.  The moms had a great time visiting.
It was so fun - we will do this again!

This place looks fun! I want to come and visit under the canopy while everyone plays next summer! What a fun time!
