One of the kid's favorite Christmas traditions is our Advent Calendars. We have a calendar that we do every year that involved some sort of activity. The kids really look forward to finding out what we are doing every night. Not every day is an activity. A lot of nights, we read scriptures about Christ's life.
We also have a calendar that depicts the nativity. Each day is something else to add to the scene: Mary, sheep, tree, wise man, etc. On Christmas morning, we get to add baby Jesus.
This year we also have toy calendars for the kids. Kate has the Playmobil horse stable calendar.
Gavin and Enoch are sharing the Lego Star Wars calendar. They really have fun putting together their Legos every night (and are doing remarkably well taking turns and sharing).
It's a fun way to count down the days until Christmas. I'll try to document what we do on each day.
