Christmas Books

I know it's early, but I'm determined to get my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving. I'm wanting to get some fun books for the kids. Please let me know the favorites in your family. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

When I was in Grade Two, my teacher gave me a copy of the book, "Have You Seen Birds?" and I fell in love.

It is a book of "lyrical running verse" (that's what Amazon called it)that really is fun to read, as well as listen too. Plus it has fantastic clay sculpture illustrations.

A few years ago I found "Have You Seen Bugs?"(Another book in the series) in a used book store and had to buy it because of the beautiful language and awesome paper sculpture illustrations.

Eric always like the Commander Toad books. I'm not sure how many of them there are, but several. I like the Frog and Toad books, my favorite being Frog and Toad are Friends. I also like the series of Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books, where she has cures for kids with bad habits. I loved reading those when I was about 8 or 9. My favorite book from sixth grade is Where the Red Fern Grows.

My absolute favorite book for kids is called Pickle Chiffon Pie and it's by Jolley Roger Bradfield. Hardly anyone has heard of it, but it's the best!
