Kate's First Day of Kindergarten

Kate was so excited to start school.  She had to wait a full week after her brothers started and that was torture!  She had already been to back-to-school night, met her teacher, Mrs. Tipton, got her school shirt - she was ready to go - and then she had to wait.
When the big day was finally here, she was ready to go first thing in the morning.  She picked out her favorite dress, we painted her toe nails to match, did her hair extra special, and then we waited some more for 9am to come.  She put her backpack on, then took it off, then put it on, then took it off.  Waiting is so hard!
Finally!  It's time to go.  Mom was able to go with Kate for the first hour of school.  Not that Kate needed her, she walked right in and sat down and listened to the instructions.  She found her best friend, Taylor, and they were good to go.
Such an excited day for an excited girl!
When Kate came home, she was tired, hungry and ready to go back!

My sweet Kate,
I still want to call you my baby.  I know that you are growing up, but you will always be my little girl.  You are amazing to me!  It is so fun to see you grow, learn and find your personality.  You have such a big heart with a quiet spirit to go along with it.  You are very sensitive to others and to feeling the spirit.  I am amazed at the things you intuitively know.
Heavenly Father has packed quite a lot of qualities into your little body.  You are kind, smart, patient, funny, strong, determined, insightful, quiet, helpful, loving, creative and beautiful.  I could go on and on!  What a wonderful girl you are!   Our family is so blessed because you are in it.  You are such an important part of our family and we need you.
You have so many talents as well.  You love gymnastics and are so good at it.  You are a wonderful artist and love to be creative.  You try hard to be a good friend and you have a lot of friends.  You mind is full of incredible ideas.  I can't wait to see what you do with them.
I know that great things are ahead of you in life!  You try so hard to be good and follow Jesus.  You are a daughter of God and I want you to always know that and live up to it.  You can do it!  You are so loved by so many.  Always remember how special you are!
Love,
Mom
