Tonight, Gavin cleaned out the fridge. Yes, he cleaned the fridge. My 11-year-old son cleaned out the fridge. He even hand-washed the produce drawers and all the emptied Tupperware (because the dishwasher was full). He did it happily.
What an amazing kid! I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a great kid. Gavin is doing things like this all the time - helping with Enoch and Kate, cleaning around the house, doing things for others. I know that one of Gavin's greatest talents is the ability to serve willingly and know when and who need service. What an amazing gift Heavenly Father has given Gavin.
I hope Gavin knows how much I appreciate him. Not just today (although I really hate cleaning out the fridge!). He is such a wonderful boy. It sounds funny calling Gavin a boy. He really has never been a boy, but a wise spirit in a little body.
I can see how much Gavin has grown; his decisions and actions prove this. I can't wait to see what Gavin does with his life!

I hate cleaning out the fridge also. Gavin kudos to you for spending your spring break time helping your mom. Can you teach our little boy to be just like that?
Gavin, I agree with your Mom! You are amazing! Here are the people who are really going to be happy that you serve so willingly and that you can clean out a fridge--your mission companions! I'm so proud of the fact that you serve so naturally! That is a very Christlike attribute (another thing you will learn about on your mission.) We are proud of you! Love, Grandpa and Grandma Randall
He's welcome to come to my house any time. :)
Not only will this amazing trait make him a wonderful missionary and much loved among his companions, he is going to make a wife extremely happy in the future!
