I chaperoned the Treehouse Preschool field trip to the Thanksgiving Point Farm today. Since we have been there quite a bit and I have posted about a lot of trips to the farm, I'll skip the rundown of animals and get to the exciting part.
Okay, I don't know how exciting for Mom and Dad, but Kate is being quite persistent about getting a bunny after seeing them again at the farm. I keep hearing, "Mine bunny", "Kate bunny", "I want bunny", "Mommy, bunny please".
I have to admit, these bunnies were adorable. But, I know nothing about rabbits. I hear you can litter box-train them and that for some people they make good pets. What do you know about them? I've read on the Internet, but I want to hear from people who have actually had pet bunnies. I know, I know - our pet saga is getting old and we should really just break down and get a dog, but we're not there yet.
A few pictures, because they were cute!

I feel the dog is the answer Tresa, got to see the AIREDALE, that Brent and Jen Garner have(see on Patch play). I have always felt we really lucked out with Bott's. But I feel by far SOMETHING TO CARE FOR and run and play with would be a good benefit for you children and epically for ENOCH--IT WOULD CHANGE HIS ATTENTION SOME AND HIS INTEREST. But it needs to be small and similar to botts, he was not a lot of hassle to take care of and easy to play with. SINCERELY A LOVING DAD AND GRANDPA.
I love dad's comment!! He is such a dog person. I actually agree with dad, I nanny'd for a family that had bunnies and they were just kept in the garage and not really played with. They were easy to take care of but not as fun as a dog. I would try and find a medium size dog that an old person has taken care of and is kind and low key. :)
Those are very cute pictures! I love that last one, of Kate.
Having a pet is a big decision because it's a responsibility you may have for a very long time. I can see why you're taking time to make a good decision. I'm afraid I have to agree with Dad--I still think a dog is a great pet. A dog is so much more interactive than most pets. I love the cute Airedale that Brent and Jen have, too!
We had a bunny when I was really little. We got it as a baby, and it was SO SO SO TINY!!! Technically it was my older brother's pet. He named it "peewee". It grew to be HUMUNGOUS! I forget how much he weighed but it was ridiculous looking. In my opinion rabbits aren't the most fun pets -- they aren't smart and interactive like dogs. They are cute and fluffy and that's about it.
